Sledgehammer |
The Sledgehammer is one of the available melee weapon classes in the game. Like with all melee weapons, the player can do basic attacks, charged attacks, and shoves. This variety of sledgehammer was introduced in Rundown 6.0 (as the Santonian HDH Sledgehammer). In Rundown 8.0, the legacy melee weapons (pre-Rundown 6.0) were reintroduced as reskins of the modern Sledgehammer.
Attacks[ | ]
Basic Attack[ | ]
Left-clicking on an enemy will perform a Basic Attack. It will not do as much damage as a Charged Attack. Killing a sleeper or hitting a surface may wake up nearby sleepers. It deals 3 damage.
Shooters (to the Occiput) and Baby Strikers (to the Head) can be instantly killed with a Basic Attack.
Charged Attack[ | ]
Holding left-click will charge up the weapon, filling the circle in the middle of the screen. A few seconds after it has been fully charged, it will automatically perform the attack. Releasing left-click at any time will also perform the attack. A charged attack does significantly more damage than a basic attack. Like the basic attack, killing a sleeper or hitting a surface may wake up nearby sleepers. Fully charging deals enough damage to kill a Striker in one hit.
Strikers, Shadows and Flyers (to the Body), Shooters (to the Back or Head), Scouts (to the Head) and Chargers (to the Back) can be instantly killed with a Fully Charged Attack.
Shove[ | ]
Right-clicking on an enemy will perform a shove. Shoving will stagger most enemies and stop their attack for a short period of time. Shoving can also be used to cancel a charged melee attack. Shoving a sleeper will immediately wake it up, but it will not affect big sleepers. Shoving does not wake up nearby sleepers.
Players can also "Quick-Shove" by pressing whatever is bound as their "Melee", defaulted to "C". It will switch from whatever you have currently equipped outside of melee and perform a shove. When a melee weapon is equipped, it will just perform a normal shove.
Damage Against Locks[ | ]
Melee weapons have an "environmental multiplier" which makes them deal differing amounts of damage to physical locks. The sledgehammer deals 3x damage to physical locks.
Trivia[ | ]
- The new Sledgehammer deals approximately 25% less Basic Attack damage than the deprecated legacy melee weapons, which used to be able to one-hit kill Strikers and Shadows in addition to Shooters, to the back of the head with a Basic Attack.
Reskins[ | ]
As of Rundown 8.0, the four pre-Rundown 6.0 melee weapons have been reintroduced as reskins of the Santonian HDH. Prisoners may now use one of the following five sledgehammers:
