The Shelling S49 is a semi-automatic 15-round pistol which occupies the main weapon slot. It is a non-rundown specific weapon and was released during the GTFO pre-alpha launch.
Description[]
As the name implies, the S49 is semi-automatic. It can kill sleepers in several rounds, especially with headshots which will usually stagger them.
The S49 has a moderate rate of fire, which paired with the very quick reload speed and decent hip fire accuracy, it ensures there's little downtime shooting at waves of sleepers while on the move. Although, its moderate damage can leave players vulnerable if they don't aim for the head, as it can take up to five body shots to kill a Striker or Shooter.
The S49 is very similar to the Rifle, boasting a higher rate of fire, faster reload, an extra bullet in the magazine, and larger total ammo capacity, but with much harsher damage falloff, and dealing slightly less damage and less stagger. Both of these weapons require good aim in order to be effective, but the Pistol is a somewhat more forgiving weapon to use.
Tips[]
- Great backup for weapons with long reload animations such as the Sniper.
- Good if unsure what to equip when going into a new expedition.
- Try to aim for headshot or aim for the body for a quick stagger.
Trivia[]
- The Shelling S49 is Ludvig Vikström's prefered main weapon for his loadout.
- The ironsights of the S49 used to have a red glow. However, at some point (probably Rundown 6.0://EXT (need to verify exactly when)), the red glow was removed.
