Sectors are a gameplay mechanic introduced in Rundown 004 that allow multiple objectives within a single expedition, increasing the difficulty and replayability of a given expedition.
Description[]
Each sector can be found behind its corresponding bulkhead door. The bulkhead door may require a player to find a bulkhead key and insert it it into a bulkhead door controller, although some bulkhead doors will unlock automatically based on other criteria. The player may then be required to complete a bioscan to open it and gain access to that sector.
When entering a new sector, the player's HUD will update with the new warden objective. If the bulkhead door leads to main, however, the HUD will not update as they are already on the main path.
Sector types[]
There are 3 different sectors that can be present within an expedition:
Main | This sector is the main objective of an expedition. A prisoner must complete this objective before they can leave the expedition.
Secondary | This sector is an optional objective. It is usually harder than the main path. It contains an additional goal for the prisoners and may increase the difficulty of the main path.
Overload | This sector is also an optional objective. It is the hardest sector within an expedition. It also contains an additional goal for the prisoners and may increase the difficulty of the main path.
Prisoner Efficiency | Prisoner efficiency is a badge earned by performing all 3 sectors (Main, Secondary, and Overload) in a single run. A player can only obtain this on levels with secondary and overload objectives. |
Trivia[]
- Prior to Rundown 6.0, the Main sector was called "High" and the Secondary sector was called "Extreme."
