The Malatack LX Assault rifle is a fully automatic assault rifle that fills the main weapon slot. It is the first and only non-rundown specific assault rifle and was released alongside GTFO's pre-alpha launch.
Description[]
The Assault Rifle packs a bigger punch and has lower recoil compared to the Van Auken LTC 5 SMG, but at the cost of magazine capacity, rate of fire and maximum ammo reserves. It features a balanced package of firepower, range and recoil that can tackle most situations reliably.
One of the Assault Rifle's biggest perks is that despite being fully automatic, its recoil is low, making ranged shots easier to land and sustained fire more accurate. The Assault Rifle's range also allows for safer crowd control as the player is not required to be as close to sleepers compared to its close range counterparts.
Sadly, the Assault Rifle's great handling is also one of its only perks. Other full auto main weapons have it beat in damage output or stagger capability, and the rest have their own benefits that can outshine the Assault Rifle, such as range or time to kill. The Assault Rifle's weaknesses are basically non-existent, but its balanced nature keeps it from filling a role that someone would look for at the equip screen.
