The Flyer is a small aerial enemy that is found initially in the unnamed environment added in Rundown 6.0 and then within the Complex. Flyers shoot three orange colored projectiles at the player. It made its debut in Rundown 6.0.

Appearance[ | ]

Flyers are unlike most enemies in the Complex, and appear to be a different species entirely from the humanoid enemies. They have round shaped body with single bright orange mouth located at the center. Around the body there are several tentacles attached to it, flailing around irregularly. The mouth is a weakpoint that periodically opens while it fires projectiles. When killed, it explodes in a shower of viscera.

Spawning[ | ]

Flyers are only encountered during combat sequences, and cannot be found in an idle/sleeping state. They appear to teleport into the Complex through portals, presumably from the currently unnamed location they are initially found in.

Behavior[ | ]

Flyers move erratically and attempt to dodge player's aim. They prefer to engage the player from a distance while keeping line of sight, launching high speed projectiles that move faster than Shooter projectiles, but can be dodged by zigzagging or continuing to strafe in one direction as they fire. They inflict light damage (4%) to the player's health, however the fast fire-rate of the projectiles in combination with other enemies rushing your position can prove to be an unwieldy combination and can stack up damage quickly if not dealt with properly.

Unlike any other ranged enemies, defeating a Flyer with melee weapon is not easy even if the player closed the distance. as it will just fly away and avoid getting in the reach of the melee weapon.
