The Bataldo Custom K330 is a semi-automatic 6-round slug shotgun which occupies the main weapon slot. It is a non-rundown specific weapon and was released with Rundown 8.0.

The Slug Shotgun's performance and stats are comparable to the Revolver or High Caliber Pistol, which make it unique compared to most other main weapons that fill a more general-purpose combat role.

Description[]

With higher damage per shot than almost every other weapon, the K330 Slug Shotgun excels at quickly killing individual enemies. It is capable of one-shotting Strikers in any part of their body within its effective range, while Shooters must be shot in the head to kill them at full health with one pull of the trigger.

Additionally, the Slug Shotgun can kill Scouts with a headshot at close range, but any farther and you won't deal enough damage to kill it instantly, unless you are hitting the occiput.

Against Giants, it is not difficult to take them down without help thanks to the Slug Shotguns's x2 stagger multiplier and high damage, but doing so will require you to land all 6 shots at close range, whether you take their head off or not, leaving you with an empty magazine and a slow reload.

While it is more than capable of taking down enemies one at a time, the Slug Shotgun struggles in crowd control. Possessing neither the enemy penetration of the various HEL weapons, nor the multiple pellets of every other shotgun, the K330's inability to stagger multiple enemies combined with its small clip make larger groups of enemies its biggest threat.

Factor in its lacking effective range preventing you from picking off enemies at a safe distance, and it should be clear that the K330 shouldn't be used when faced with an incoming horde. However, the Slug Shotgun can reliably clean up stragglers, put down smaller groups, or fend off enemies that get past your team. Not every fight pits you against an army.

The small amount of reserve ammo the K330 can carry will see you switching weapons frequently, so a special weapon that can cover for its shortcomings will allow the Slug Shotgun to its strengths without being held back by its weaknesses.

Tips[]

  • Accuracy is very important for this weapon. While it has high damage even without headshots, its low ammo, small clip, and slow reload punish missed shots harsher than other main weapons.
  • The Slug Shotgun is less suited to frequent combat than other main weapons, so your special weapon is likely to see more use than normal. Avoid using the Slug Shotgun with special weapons that also have low ammo, small clips, and slow reloads so that you don't find yourself without a loaded gun during a hectic fight.

Trivia[]

  • This weapon deals the highest amount of single-projectile damage out of all main weapons.
    • The Sawed-off Shotgun deals more total damage per shot - assuming all 8 pellets hit, of course.
  • This weapon has the lowest amount of total ammo out of all main weapons.
  • Despite having a pump on the model, and a slow fire rate as if the weapon needs to be cycled between shots, the weapon is only ever pumped when reloading, otherwise firing in a semi-automatic fashion.
