Bat |
The Bat is one of the available classes of melee weapons in the game. Like with all melee weapons, the player can do basic attacks, charged attacks, and shoves.
Attacks[ | ]
Basic Attack[ | ]
Left-clicking on an enemy will perform a basic attack. It will not do as much damage as a charged attack. Killing a sleeper or hitting a surface may wake up nearby sleepers. It does three damage with no charge. This weapon also deals extra damage to physical locks on doors, enabling it to break them in one basic attack.
The Bat's basic attacks do enough stagger damage to interrupt Strikers and Shooters. While this is not particularly notable in most situations, it can be helpful to quickly stop an awoken sleeper from alerting the rest of the room.
Charged Attack[ | ]
Holding left-click will charge up the weapon, filling the circle in the middle of the screen. A few seconds after it has been fully charged, it will automatically perform the attack. Releasing left-click at any time will also perform the attack. A charged attack does significantly more damage than a basic attack. Like the basic attack, killing a sleeper or hitting a surface may wake up nearby sleepers. Fully charging deals enough damage to kill a Striker when hit in the back or the head.
Scouts can be killed with a fully charged hit to the back of the head. However, this is rather inconsistent and not advised. If possible, Scouts should be taken out by other melee weapons such the Spear or the Sledgehammer.
The Bat's massive stagger multiplier allow its charged attacks to stagger Giants, even without a full charge. Since Giants are risky to take down without alerting other sleepers, the Bat can be valuable for ensuring a clean kill.
Shove[ | ]
Right-clicking on an enemy will perform a shove. Shoving will stagger most enemies and stop their attack for a short period of time. Shoving can also be used to cancel a charged melee attack. Shoving a sleeper will immediately wake it up, but it will not affect big sleepers. Shoving does not wake up nearby sleepers.
Players can also "Quick-Shove" by pressing whatever is bound as their "Melee", defaulted to "C". It will switch from whatever you have currently equipped outside of melee and perform a shove. When a melee weapon is equipped, it will just perform a normal shove.
Damage Against Locks[ | ]
Melee weapons have an "environmental multiplier" which makes them deal differing amounts of damage to physical locks. The bat deals 5x damage to physical locks.
Reskins[ | ]
Between Rundown 6.0 and ALT://Rundown 6.0, the Kovac Peacekeeper was the only bat available to prisoners. However, as of Rundown 8.0, prisoners may opt to use the Attroc Titanium Bat instead.
Trivia[ | ]
- The name of the Kovac Peacekeeper implies that it is a standard-issue weapon provided by Kovac Defense Services to KSOs, presumably as a truncheon.
- Prisoners are given this weapon during Training, reinforcing this idea.
- Repeated light attacks from the Bat can stun-lock Strikers and Shooters, leaving them helpless while the player whallops them. Useful to avoid risking an enemy screaming.
